Why do things happen to little babies who are so innocent and helpless?

So beautiful, tender hearted souls such as yours can teach the importance of love to the world.

In the greater understanding of things, please remember. Our lives are short and transitory. Heaven is real and permanent. This is not our home, we only come hear to learn what we must. The soul born to a maimed body may be learning more than the one born healthy.

Because the natural laws of the universe are completely amoral. Things happen according these natural laws with no special protection for anyone or anything. If a book, hammer or baby is dropped it will fall, gauranteed.

I know what you mean - little kids have no means of fighting off an attacker - be it illness or a violent person. But then if they die i would like to think that they are going to a place where there is no pain

Ironic things can happen to anyone, and meaning that babies are too young to defend themselves, they are at harm even more.
