Tell me about your dog and why he/she is special to you?
No matter the breed or size, dogs bring happiness and unconditonal love to our lives. So tell me about your dog or dogs. I have a 2 year old yellow Labrador Retriever who is the light of my life. I love how he makes me laugh. I love how he looks at me with so much love and admiration, I love how he is always there no matter what I look like or how I feel. And he loves me all the same. To him I am everything and to me he is the world.

My favorite things about my dogs are
1. They don't talk back like my teenagers
2. I buy them things because "I" want to, not because "everyone else has one"
3. They will never need car insurance
4. They don't laugh if I pass gas
5. I NEVER have to buy them clothes
6. I get no phone calls from the principal
7. At Christmas they are happy with just a bone (no batteries required)
8. They never keep the bathroom tied up
9. They dont know how to use the phone
10. They dont like Rapp music
11. They don't know what day I get paid
12. They are never embarrassed by my appearance.
13. They irritate the nasty cat next door.
14. They force me to exercise (don't know how much I really like that one)
15. They hate my Mother-in-law too
If you give me a few more minutes I'm sure I can come up with more. LOL

I have 3 dogs. 2 great danes and a boxer.
My male great dane I love because he is so massive and so strong, but the sweetest thing you could ever meet. He is so loving and gentle and a big ole wuss. He is also SO SMART! He figured out how to open our sliding glass door. Its quite a surprise when you think he is outside and you turn around and he is right in your face!
My female great dane I love because she is a big ole ball of hyper and silliness. She does the weirdest stuff all day long. And she always wants attention, which can get annoying but, it's cute that she loves my husband and i so much. But that's my husbands baby. No matter how crazy she can get, she can do no wrong!
My boxer I love because he cracks me up! He does the funniest things and his facial expressions kill me. He is a cuddlier, and loves to play fetch. He would pretty much play it all day if you let him. He has a gift of tipping over the water bowl...just enough to get water all over himself...and the kitchen floor....
Despite the things dogs can do to be a pain, or make ya mad, ya can't help but love them for all the bad, and awesome stuff they do! I love my babies!
(I also sound like a hallmark card..but it's so true)

Dino is my "little boy"; in fact, I refer to him that way so much that one of my co-workers thought I had a child -- a human child. I told her he is everything to me. My sis lives in Dallas (I'm outside Washingto DC), my mom is in NC. So with very few friends, my chihuahua IS my little boy. He's sitting in my lap right now and forcing me to type one-handed but I ... oh dear God! ... and farting! ... but I don't mind. He wakes me at 7am to walk him in the park; then we have some time together before I have to go to work. About an hour before I get off and my energy is starting to lag, I remember that I've got him to come home to and when I get there, he is going to be SOOOOO HAPPY TO SEE ME! He'll jump up and down and lick my nose and roll over for me to scratch his belly. And I blow little raspberries on his tummy and listen to his heart and wear him like a hat and settle in to fall asleep to a good movie vhnnnhnftr76uy -- that's his input into all of this; every now and then, he wakes up and checks out what I'm writing and adds a liitle something, a paw or two on the keyboard.
Dogs are a glimpse at the Divine, and on the evolutionary scale, they are BETWEEN us and the angels, not beneath us.

I had a Bichon Frise named Blanca when I was younger. She was killed by a hit-and-run driver and my family didn't know until we put up signs looking for her. The person behind the hit-and-run driver came forward and told us that she took Blanca to the vet, where my dog died in her arms.
Blanca was a great dog. We got her from our local Bichon rescue because she was abused by her previous owner, punched in the face and kicked down the stairs. When my family met her, she was so scared. I spoke to her softly and patted the cushion next to me on the sofa. She came carefully and I knew in that instant that we belonged together.
Every time she was afraid, she ran under my bed. I always had to lie on the floor and coax her out into the room. She was very anxious and peed everywhere in the house. It took a lot of coaxing and loving to get her to stop.
She was so loyal to me. She was happy to see other people in my family when they got home, but she was so excited when I got home. We literally spent quiet hours alone, with me just petting her and petting her.
We had another Bichon, Andele (think Speedy Gonzalez), who tried to mess with Blanca, but once Blanca became more comfortable in our home, she really stood her ground. It was so cute to see them together.
I am in an apartment that only allows cats, but if I ever get another dog, it will definitely be a rescue Bichon.

I have a 1-year old muttley mix :)
He is soo affectionate and cuddley- but full of energy too.
He cuddles with me at night and pulls me along when I jog.
He looks adorable and really WANTS to please me.
He has some anxiety issues but we work on them together :)
Dogs are so much better than people because they live for the moment. He was neglected before he lived with me- but he still trusts, loves, and all is forgotten :)

I have a german shepard/husky mix named Cowboy. I have had him since he was 4 wks old and he is so smart, yet stupid at the same time. He always wants to be with me and loves to chase his tail. He makes me happy because I can lay down on the floor with him and take a nap, nothing like it. We originally were training for search and rescue when he turned 8 wks, but since developed the worse case of hip dysplexia (sp?) that the 5 vets I have taken him to have seen.

I have 8, all strays or rescues allthough a couple are purebreeds. I love them because they all have a unique personality, they mob me when I come home from work, they love me regardless of what kind of day I have had.
This quote sums it up for me " God, please help me be the person my dog thinks I am."
