Why are Yahoo chatrooms TOTALLY infested with bots and real chatters can no longer choose the room they wish.?

About 3/4 of them are placed there by Yahoo (although they will never admit to it) in order to generate revenue for Yahoo. The others are there because some people have nothing better to do with their life. I have repeatedly asked Yahoo about it but every time I just get a response saying there is nothing they can do about it. I found out from a friend that actually works at Yahoo that they place the bots in the rooms. That is part of the reason I gave up using the chat rooms on Yahoo.

Neglect seems to be Yahoo's way of shutting down chat without actually telling user they can no longer use the service. If they aren't actively courting bots they are definitely not putting much effort into blocking them. A couple years ago there was a lawsuit against Yahoo over sexual offenses which started in a Yahoo chatroom. Ever since then the service has been on a sharp downhill slide to say the least.

It's approximately 86% bots and 14% people. Among the genders, 97% of women in chat rooms are bots, while only 14% displayed as men are bots.

I am definitely under the impression that there is something strange these days about yahoo chat rooms. For the last two days[starting 17 Aug 2k7], which ever yahoo room I choose from India rooms, it leads me to more or less the same room all times !!

Moreover at the beginning of the chat room switch, message says "You are in "Chennai Global Chat:10[example]" ( Check out http://inchatyahoocom/ for more local rooms [Notification: We are currently recording IP addresses of all Yahoo! Chat users.] )

This has been posted from the room itself, and notice the URL ....no dots whatsoever !!

This raises my suspision of yahoo chat rooms being hacked.

yahoo has been really messed up last few days i would say rooms are flooded with bots cause yahoo is changing something or tryin to fix something
