Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis?
Has anyone heard of this or have information on this? My spouse is diagnose with this. One day my spouse woke up and could not move his legs and one arm. He is over that now, but what if it happens again?!!

Controlling the thyroid should prevent recurrence. Keeping a log of activities could help determine triggers (e.g.carbohydrates, salt). Talk to your doctor to help you set up the log. If it happens, he will need treatment and possibly reevaluation. There is another condition called familial periodic paralysis that could be involved.
