Why don't Yahoo! Answers give a reason when sending a user a Violation Notice?

I have just received a Violation Notice for the following answer that I posted:

Hello Dr (meltonmowbray2003)

You have posted content to Yahoo! Answers in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. As a result, your content has been deleted. Community Guidelines help to keep Yahoo! Answers a safe and useful community, so we appreciate your consideration of its rules.

Question: Coffee Machines are the future?

Question Details: Alan Partridge is a God and Michael the Geordie is Jesus Christ!! EDIT So, the Alan Partridge sense of humour hasn't travelled Stateside yet?!

Source(s):

"Access to D-i-i-i-xons!!!"

Deleted Answer: Alan Partridge is a God and Michael the Geordie is Jesus Christ!! EDIT So, the Alan Partridge sense of humour hasn't travelled Stateside yet?!

If you feel this content was removed in error, please contact Customer Care and tell us why.

Regards,

Yahoo! Customer Care

Update:

I don't mind the Violation Notice, but why cannot the staff at Yahoo! have the common decency to explain why the answer has been deleted and points docked.

Yahoo! staff: Give me 500 extra points now, 'cos you have been utterly moronic.

(Does this mean than this question will be deleted also??)

They probably just decided to take the safe route with the removal of your post. Any religious references are probably a hot topic in terms of people's sensitivity. Sometimes they remove posts in error too.

Under Yahoo's policy, they have the right to remove any post in their sole discretion, so they aren't obligated to give a reason, however, I would suggest you write back to them and just ask. I had one of my questions removed, which was simply asking about a Yahoo feature. I replied to their email asking them to explain why it had been removed. They wrote back saying the removal was in error and that they gave me my points back.

    It's worth simply asking.

That's ridiculous. And this happens to me a lot also. I get violations for signing onto yahoo answers

No one knows why a faceless organization that uses a filthy rodent in a bath robe as a mascot would do such unjustifiable things. You just have to move on and forget about it. Everyone on this forum gets pointless violations and hates the Yahoo! staff for it. Try to just continue with your routine and forget the lost points.

It's quite simple. They don't care about us. A feeble minded user was offended by the religious reference and reported it. That's all it takes. Tattling is rewarded on Yahoo. But it would take way too much effort i.e. money to have a person actually looking into the tattles.

Well since you typed the whole thing out again you might get reprimanded for the same thing and more points off.

Although after looking at it I guess I don't see what is the violation.

maybe the yahoo!team holds its right not to provide explanations.it's the same for embassies or governments when they turn down someone's request for visa or citizenship.

check under terms of policy about such notion.
