Your job is guaranteed in the army. You will always have your job in the army and can not be fired. You can cause you self to be eliminated from service (kicked out) by breaking laws disregarding regulations, not staying physically fit, mental instability, and paying you bills. So how can you say that it is not? It all depends on you. you can get fired for being late to work a McD's but in the army they just counsel you the first two to three times then take money and time from you. Yes there is an inherent possibility you could be killed in action but look at the crime statistic in the US. Last year alone there were 15,000 murders across the nation. the army has lost only 2619 in the last 4 years of actual combat so do you think you are safer on the streets of Atlanta, New York, or Baltimore or on the streets of Baghdad

Your job is not guaranteed in the Army. It is guaranteed that you will be given the chance to try for that job. In AIT it is still on the new soldier to make it through AIT, get the MOS they signed up for and report to a unit.

  • I don't believe so. At any time, a soldier may be discharged at any time for any reason, if the country decides they don't need him anymore. It has happened - downsizing in most militaries after the world wars, the disbanding of the Royal Hong Kong Regiment, etc. It's not very likely, however... unless one no longer meets the physical, medical and mental requirements to remain in the military.

A person's more specific job in the military is never guaranteed. If a soldier's job was to operate anti-aircraft weapons, then all of a sudden the anti-aircraft capability was removed or transfered to another service by the powers that be, he's lost that job - he'll probably get a choice of another one, mind you.

Your job is guaranteed in that you will have a job and get paid, but doing the job you signed up for is not guaranteed unless it is a super specialized mos. I am an artillerymen 13b and here i am in Iraq doing convoy security which is not my mos. and when i get back to the states until I go to re class I won't be doing 13b stuff either.

Only if it's in writing. Never trust a recruiter with his/her word only trust paper work that says what you want in plain English so there can be no doubt.

In the Army you are guaranteed a paycheck for doing the job that the Army needs you to fill. What ever that may be.

Each soldier is trained in a specific job, although, everyone is still a basic Infantryman. The 1st thing they teach you is how to kill an enemy.

So, your trained job (MOS) is your job, but when needed, PICK UP A WEAPON!

Guaranteed?...Under the current situation, anyone in the Army has an excellent chance of dying.

If you are in the Army or belong to any miltary institution, make sure to sit down with Lloyds of London and take out a sizeable life insurance policy to make sure at least your family is taken care of in the event that you don't make it home.

Surely, anyone in power especially in this administration could care less about a soldier's family.

The revolution is coming, will you be ready?

    Peace

your job may be gauranteed, but it comes with a price. getting in trouble won't get you fired, but they can take some of your income for sometime. plus you don't get paid for shi*t for what you do. it takes peolple thier whole career to reach E7 or 8 even then they don't make swat.

It is not guaranteed. When you enlist, you have to stay the entire time. But, if the Army no longer needs you, out you go.
