Just curious!!! How many people out there canned today?
How many of the readers out there have canned today? (Home preservation of food) and if so, what did you can and how much? I have canned almost 150 lbs of tomatoes and have about 200 lbs to go...I canned tomatoes plain, juice, vegetable juice and salsa...and am getting ready to do tamato-basil-onion........just curious to know if people around the world do the same thing......yeah go home preservers!!!! And if you do, let me know what you have done and where you are.....Thanks readers!!!!

I canned today. I did up 24 pints of a mango bbq sauce, 18 quarts of spiced crab apples, and 12 jars of a Chocolate Raspberry Jam. So far this canning season I have done.... 36 quarts of Spagetti sauce with meat, 24 pints of Basil Tomato sauce, 15 jars of Diabetic Apricot jam, 9 quarts of apricots, 8 pints of apricot purree, Pea soup, oxtail soup, habanera fire jelly, strawberry banana jam, 3 bean salad, stewed tomatoes, salsa, stew, chicken, carne asada, Blueberry jam, sundea topping, green beans, chili, dill pickles, hotdog relish, 4 kinds of chutney, beets, salmon, corn chowder, clam chowder, beef burgundy, mango jelly, pears, ginger pear butter, and apple sauce. Still am only half done.LOL I am from Vancouver BC

Wow, you've really really been busy! It must be nice to think of all the food you'll be enjoying later.
All I've done is brine a chicken, took 5 minutes, and added some cukes to a pickle jar for later, 1 minute!

I made Jam and Corn Relish. Fresh Bread and pizza dough! Next week I am doing big stuff after the Framers Market. I love to give homemade stuff as gifts and it is nice in winter to remember what you had in summer!
Glad to know its not just me!
