Why would anyone go on the Dr. Phil show?

I don't watch a lot of tv, but I was watching the Dr. Phil show the other day and they did an episode called "40 and fabulous" or something like that.  It was about women being fabulous at 40.  They brought on this mom and her son, and the mom liked to party and the son thought she should "act her age."  Then Dr. Phil started to lecture the son about why he was wrong.  I don't know who was right, but who is Dr. Phil to decide?  Why would anyone subject themselves to being judged and lectured to by some guy on national tv?

This question gets a star. I've wondered the same thing myself. I dont know why anyone would go on national tv and air their "dirty linen" as we used to call it. And too-where did Dr. Phil get the idea he knew everything about everything. Must be from the Oprah book on "How to be an Icon". I'm waiting for someone to ask Dr. Phil where he gets off judging anyone. He may very well be a doctor, but they dont know everything either. Does it make anyone nauseous when Dr. Phil and wifey go offstage hand in hand? Give me a break.  That felt good. Now I dont need a therapist.

People go on the show for advice or because they are concerned about a love one, friend, or someone is about them.   

I think many people go because they need help in some area and they have hit rock bottem, or need to see thing in a different light to stop before.  Others want 10mintues of fame.

Why would anyone air their dirty laundry on national TV? Because some jerks are so insecure that they will do anything for that 15 minutes of fame. Pathetic really.

Dr Phil is fat ugly and bald guy. Who writes books on dieting that funny the man is fat himself. That accent he got get on my nerves lol

Thats why people go to him.  To be on the show and to be judged.  Dr. Phil tells things the way they should be whether you like it or not,  and if you don't like the show.....DON'T WATCH...
