Yes, they use a great deal of sugar in their food and have very extensive and very good advertising. The sugar makes you hungry soon after eating and then you see another fun commercial.
It is an excellent conspiracy!

The only thing I do not understand is the man who eats Big Macs almost exclusively. Something like 95% of his solid diet consists of Big Macs and has been for decades and he hasn't died yet and has a normal cholesterol level.
I do think that he has probably been pickled from the inside out with all those preservatives.

Of course not, think about it, if this was true the FDA would be on their backs and they don't need any more negative publicity than they already have. I'm sure a few gullible people believe it though, they just like eating there and don't want to admit they actually LIKE the food.

Everyone does. People have long had a taste for salt, sugar, and fats that you should not eat in excess. A modest amount of these things make eating more enjoyable and does not hurt most people. Like nuts or whipped creme on a dessert, little things add to an enjoyable flavor but should be kept in moderation. Chemically, there is little difference between natural ingredients and items concocted in a lab.

They surely put additives in the food wether it is McDonald or the processing plants.
But if they do it for me to go back, they wasted a lot of money and effort. I wouldn't touch their food with your stomach, let alone pay for it. Their coffee is good though.

The majority of answers here are complete nonsense!
There are preservatives and additives in their food as there is in many foods but not for the reason to make you come back thats just stupid. Such an additive would be an addictive additive such as heroin or cocaine.
Secondly McDonalds is no more unhealthy than most meals, their salt levels are now maitained and the calorific count for many of their foods are quite balanced. Eating Mcdonalds in moderation as with any food is not unhealthy. Mcdonalds publishes its nutritional information with pride. The most unhealthy thing they sell on their main menu is the fries but no more unhealthy than any other portion of fries. It is a fact that thin Fries absorb far more oil than do Thick potato chips as served in 'fish and chip' shops in England.

It can be possible, but I go once in a blue moon and I never feel like going back the next day. But if they do it may not work on everyone. People's tast buds can be different and people crave different things.

all fast food restraunts put aditives in there food so they dont stale faster and what not you shoul watch supersize me have you ever notice that a home mad french fry molds but the fast food ones never get moldy ive found thoes suckers in my car after a year and fast food fries still look like they could be eaten i wont eat fries any more because of that
but any fatening food has natural chemicles in it that make you want it more than healthy food.

that is as stupid as the person who sued mcdonalds for making them fat. They don't add any additives to make you come back the food is good and either you like it or you don't. I think the biggest reason people keep going back is be casuse it is cheap and people just don't have time to cook anymore.

That's exactly what the cigarette companies did....evil.
Most of Mcdonald's food is corn based, even the fries. So, it has little variety, and variety is what fills a person up and gives different nutrients.
