hes staying even if he wants to leave he has no choice, to tell tou the truth no team is willing to gut there roster for kobe maybe the under 500 teams, the front office needs to do some improvement immediately or kobe will be entering the season unhappy.

I think he still wants to leave but is not making his case public anymore. It appears Laker management spoke with him and they are both playing the wait and see game; I am speaking of Laker management and Kobe.

I think the Lakers want to see if they can win with Kobe and the team they have right now before trading way their young guys. It makes no sense to the Lakers of trading away their youth if it still doesn't make the Lakers a contender and make Kobe happy. Kobe could still leave after this year so the Lakers can lose out on everything. I think if the Lakers dont improve big time this year they will consider trading Kobe but need him to stay quiet so it doesn't put the Lakers in a worse negotiating position with other teams as they would know the Lakers are desperate to trade him.

Inless something drastic happens, Kobe looks like he's staying in LA. But the Lakers status, at best, is a "chancy" playoff team.

Kupchak needs to make a big move for a big man (Jermaine O'Neal ((rumors)) to help this team. If he's got to trade Bynum for JO, so be it.
