Does Organic Milk have less hormones than regular milk?

I am SO afraid of cow's milk. I shudder when I read articles like that - poor cows being milked 300 days/year and constantly pregnant! Yikes. I wonder why people don't realize that when they mess with nature, it is a domino effect and everything that they do has an end result that is most likely unpleasant. Guess who's on the receiving end of the unpleasantries? We are!

Does Organic Milk Have Hormones

Some dairies give cows growth hormones. A theory is that the growth hormone can stimulate hormone receptors in humans and may cause problems. (BTW, soy products also can stimulate estrogen receptors which may not be a good thing if you are using a lot of them.) A lot of the major milk companies have stopped using milk from dairies that use the growth hormone. Just read the carton and it will say that their farmers don't use artificial growth hormone or something to that effect. Your Mom should really not get so worked up about things "they" say until she is able to verify who "they" are and what exactly it means that they are saying.

I already knew all milk(regular and "organic") has 59 active hormones...it's pretty ironic too because all we hear about is how bad the weak plant estrogen in soy milk is for men..but never a mention of the hormones in cow's milk.

Organic Milk is from Cows that are not given the extra hormones to make them to increase milk production & constantly produce milk. They still produce thier on hormones for their babies(calves),

Soy milk does not have "estrogen" it is a natural plant extract that mimicks estrogen. Which our bodies find confusing.

I was the person surggesting IF they inssited on doing "Dairy" they should consider Horizon Organic Milk.. I don't believe humans need dairy products, nor are they health for us.

And people worry and argue about soy milk containing phyto estrogens that block estrogen from being produced. This is a very good article and I wish more people would understand it. Maybe since it's from harvard people will actually believe it.

i don't buy into the organic markets.

especially after a few companies got their buttocks kicked badly over lying about their products being organic.

i'd say most of the 'organic' product on the shelves isn't.

mass production and organic just can't work... too costly and companies rather just use a different label than actually perform their duty to their customers who would like to have an 'organic' alternative.

same thing happens to this day with recycling... think all that seperating items is going to matter when they drive the recycling truck to the dump and pour it all into the same pile?

Strictly organic milk should be free of hormones if everything is being done correctly. To answer the other question, No. I wouldn't drink organic milk. Just because there are no hormones doesn't mean the animal wasn't tortured and doesn't mean I will suddenly like the idea of drinking another species breatmilk that is designed for their babies. Ewwww.

All milk from cows is organic, the key is what they've been fed or injected with....
