A 15 year old card isn't that old and he's not a sure fire lock first balad hall of famer, you'll likely have to wait for him to get inducted (if he gets in) which is probably another 10-15 years, at that point you'd have a 25-30 year old rookie card of a hall of famer, be worth a little something then, store it and forget about it

Hey Chris, Mantle didn't have a .300 ba for his career. I would hold to the card though since it isn't worth much now. It might be listed for $5, but I bet you could only get maybe $2 for it. I probably have 25,000+ cards. I'm just hoping one day the market turns again. Hopefully by the time I am 70 I can make a quick buck to use for retirement!

A card is always worth more if it is a rookie card and the player is a top performer. If it is signed, then the value goes up over 3 times or more. I would hold on to it.
If your card is protected that helps keep it in mint condition. You are better off selling it on E-bay than going to a card shop. They always give you the minimum value regardless of the condition.
