Why did Littleton pickup a save in a 30 - 3 win?

I thought it had to be 3 runs or less.

To show how stupid some people are, the lead was 3-0 before Texas started scoring. It was NEVER 5-2. Littleton pitched 3 effective innings which constitutes a save, and only repeating the answer because I hate when people just comment about someone's answer with answering the original question.

Becuase he pitched the final three innings of the game. Pitching the final three innings (minimum) of a game in relief meets the criteria for a save, regardless of the score.

He got it because he went 3 innings.

He picked up the save because he entered the game with after 5 inning of work by the starter with less then a 4 run lead, and finished the game. When he entered the score was 5-2 ... so technically he entered a save situation.

stop asking this stupid question, people.

He pitched effectively for at least 3 innings and finished the game. Any player who meets such guidelines receives a save.
