Ideas for food to take on flight...?
I'm travelling from Toronto to Las Vegas, and don't want to have to purchase the crap they serve on the plane. Any ideas as to what I can take that won't be banned/confiscated?

Flying is very dehydrating, so I try to stay away from too much salt.
I like to bring grapes, carrot sticks, string cheese, maybe a small bag of pretzels or a bagful of Wheat Thins or Triscuits. Raw almonds or walnuts are good too - filling, but not too salty.

Get a sub or a sandwich if you get it the night before get it without tomatoes and easy on the sauce. For long flights like to Lost Wages <Wink> I like the sub I get a foot long and eat half early in the flight and the rest later on. I find it helps to keep the hungers at bay.
I don't know if you can purchase a drink at the airport to take on board flights going to the States but usually the softdrinks and water are free even on scAIR Canada.
BTW stay away from coffee, tea and booze on the flights they will dehydrate you. Have a good time and try not to loose to much <GRIN>

As long as you don't take liquid-like foods (like yogurt, cream cheese, spreads, butter, jam, jelly, honey, etc.) you should be good with pretty much anything!

get a sandwich at the airport you leave from, like Subway or Quiznos
