My pkg. of Quaker Oats does not have the recipe on it..I would like a recipe that does NOT have raisins in it & can they be made with oil or like country crock instead of butter or shortening? Thank you....

    INGREDIENTS:

    * 1cup flour

    * 1/2 cup sugar

    * 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

    * 1/2 teaspoon salt

    * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    * 1/2 cup shortening (I actually use VEGETABLE OIL, it makes them really soft)

    * 1 egg

    * 2 tablespoons milk

    * 3/4 teaspoon vanilla

    * 1 1/2 cup oatmeal (I use any type of granola cereal for half of this)

    * 1 cup chocolate chips or raisins (OPTIONAL!!!)

    PREPARATION:

    Mix all ingredients together; drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart (I don't grease the cookie sheet because of the oil, use your judgment). Bake 10-12 min. at 350 degrees F.
