during which time period is "little women" set?

i think its civil war, but im not sure. i need to know for a book report.

    yes it's the civil war, because that's why their father leaves.

    By the way there is a book out called "March" and its supposed to be the story of their father while he is gone to war. It's very good. It's by Geraldine Brooks.
