Im staying in paris right now too, we went to the palace of versialles and it was great, there is also a midevial town that you can get to with a short train ride called provins which is also lots of fun.

The classic day trip is to the Chateau of Versailles. It can be reached either by the RER communter rail system or by Bus from the Pont de Sevres.
