What should be done about the lead contamination from all the "Made in China" products being sent to landfills

Update:

I am far from brainless. The question was leading and biased, yes, but I have my reasons and since you decidedly are trying to insult me, I won't bother to explain. It might confuse your little mind.

I agree with the second person that answered to a point. Unfortunately, that method would endanger their already seething cesspool of an eco system.

Update 2:

As to what can be done? I wish I had a great answer but I don't. I do have an idea of who would know though. The Navy sinks battleships for coral reefs in the oceans, they have to be decontaminated and stripped before dropping them. I bet they would know how to handle this.

As I see it, this lead contamination has to have been happening for some time now, from many sources, not just China. The landfills are such horrid places, there needs to be some real brain power applied to this situation.

Last I heard, they will not be sending them to landfills. Mattel doesn't know how to dispose of them. I'll link the news story if I can find it. It was a week or so ago since I read that, so maybe the situation has changed since then.

I suppose some consumers still throw them away, so even if Mattel/Fisher Price take care of them responsibly (if that's possible) there will still be lead from them in the landfills. I really don't know what should be done. Do you?

A much better, non-biased question would be:

What should be done about ALL the lead contaminated products from EVERY country, regardless of where they are made?

And don't say: "Only made in China products have lead contamination." Unless you are a brainless tool of the media here.

Not much can be done about the lead contamination from all the "Made in China" products being sent to landfills. We should send it back to China.

they should be decontaminated first, or shipped back to china.
