How many 2 pound catfish do you need to catch in order to have a catfish fry for 4 people?

Yeah I agree. 6-7 battered and fried.

Serve "Dirty Rice" or "Yellow Rice"; Cheddar-cheese Drop Biscuits or 'Jalapeno Corn Bread; grilled Asparagus or Creamed corn and fresh roasted Appalachia Oysters on the half shell.

In place of the creamed corn you could grill some corn on the cob "in the husks"!!???

Serve with homemade tarter sauce and remoulade.

FYI: Peanut oil works well for deep frying fish and has a "nutty" flavor. When I fry fish I try to use peanut oil.

It depends on how you clean the fish. I generally fillet mine and take off the skin and the red browish line in the middle. You will get that muddy, musky taste if you gut the catfish. You waste quite a bit of the fish this way but it will cut down on the bad taste.

With my way of cleaning...around 6-7 by themselves (no sides).

depends on how much you think each person is going to eat,chances are people arent going to eat a 2 poun catfish by themselves,so maybe like 1 so then everyone gets like a half pound and so they can do whatever they want to it and then make a really great side,like rice to go with it.

I'd say 6 to 8 also. If you have lots of sides, probably 4 to 5.
