Depending on if you have kids with you (or are kids at heart), you might be able to check out the Honolulu Zoo and the Aquarium when you do Diamond Head as they are very nearby. It's worth the price of admission!

Wow! One day doesn't leave you a lot of time. Pearl Harbor can take some time depending on when you arrive and what time of year you are going. I was there in late June and the wait to actually go out to the memorial was 3+ hours. When I went in early December 3 years ago there was no line at all.

I agree the Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor are must do activities. There is one other thing you can do in Honolulu and that is shop! There many stores/shops and of course Ala Moana Mall.
