    Mysteries, huh?

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin is really fun and suspenseful, I believe I read it when I was 12.

Wow, no one has said Twilight?

Well, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer definitely. An amazing book, everyone I know loves it. Even the people who normally don't like to read. A great vampire book.

A Great & Terribly Beauty by Libba Bray falls under the fantasy/mystery category. It's good, I enjoyed reading it.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie is my favorite mystery book so far. It's amazingly creepy and so hard to figure out. A Pocket Full of Rye was good too, but not as entertaining.

I think you might like Maximum Ride by James Patterson. It's pretty sci-fi(ish) and fun to read.

Anything by Neal Shusterman is great. He's one of my favorite authors and has written a bunch of books in many different genres. My favorites are Everlost and The Schwa Was Here

Here are a couple of other books that you might like, but don't really go under any of those categories:

    Tithe by Holly Black

The Book Thief or I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak

I would look them up on Amazon, read reviews and descriptions (maybe even first chapters), and pick the ones that interest you most. Hopefully one of these will.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan is the first of a great series. It's not sci-fi but does have a mystery. It's a fictional story that incorporates the Greek gods and heroes. Even if you're not that familiar with the Greek myths, it's still a fun book and easy to follow.

    Sci-Fi: Honor Harrington series-David Weber

Mysteries: James Doss, John Dunning, Paul Christopher

    Too many books to name.

Thriller: TEMPLE, ICE STATION, SEVEN DEADLY WONDERS, AREA 7-Matthew Reilly

    AMAZONIA-James Rollins

These should get you started. Enjoy!

Enders Game by Orson Scott Card.

Its a classic and award winning sci-fi novel about a young boy who goes to battle school where he trains to defeat an alien race. Its intelligent, easy to read and doesn't pull its punches.

Trust me, its perfect for you. I can think of no better book for someone your age. Beg, borrow or steal it.

Did you read Eldest? It's not quite the same kind of thing as sci-fi. More fantasy.
