Which Sociology theory suitable to analyzing divorce?

there is no one sociological theory on divorce. in fact, what you are really looking for are sociological PERSPECTIVES on divorce. since there are different branches of sociology, each one has a different perspective on the issue. for example: a sociologist focusing on marriage and family (like me) would analyze how divorce effects the family unit. an occupational sociologist would analyze how divorce effects the work place, perhaps lower productivity because the worker is distracted or high rates of absenteeism, because the worker misses work to attend court dates. a sociologist focusing on adolescents would analyze how divorce effects children specifically, not the entire family unit.

most times, sociologists try to find trends and patterns. and how the subject (in this case divorce) effects the group of interest and any trends across different groups. like:

1) are boys and girls effected differently?

2) are men and women effected differently?

3) which race or religion or age group is more likely to divorce?

4) what factors contribute to divorce, etc.
