i haven't danced for 6 years... is this going to be a problem?

I'm 16, and I haven't done organized ballet (like a class) for 6 years. I want to get back into it, but I'm afraid it's too late to start up again. When I was 10 I was a very good dancer, and I still remember some of my moves. Although I am not as flexible as I was, I can always work on that. Basically, my question(s) is, will the dance school i go to (and it's not a fancyshmancy one at that) accept me, who hasn't put on ballet slippers in 6 years? Will it all come back to me? And is it worth it?

You're still young so getting back into dance wont be a problem for you. But take my advice, you should do some stretches before entering the classroom. Just so your body will be used to whats to come, and you wont be sore the next morning! It will all come back to you once you start. You'll be fine!

I stopped dancing for about 4 years and had to start completely fresh. But it's different for everyone. Some of it will come back to you with lessons,,maybe even a lot, but you'll have to gain back all of what you learned through a lot effort, and hard work. Its like starting from step one. A beginner all over again.Exceeepttt a tad easier, because yes,a lot WILL come back to you. I know it sucks, but Im working my way back up now..

Did you have to audition to get into the studio? If not then they'll take you back.

Yes it'll all come back to you. Your body remembers the moves even if you head forgot them.

If you want to dance, then dance. Doing what you love is always worth it.
