Does anyone actually think that General David Patraeus's report will be negative, regarding progress in Iraq?

It will be as glowing as they can make it!

Gen.Petraeus won't be writing the report he presents in front of Congress.

Unless he decides to go off script.......but is that likely??

    I guess we will see.

EDIT: Remember Colin Powell edited scripts if he didn't totally agree with what was written.

He did this with the Niger Uranium evidence when he spoke before the U.N..

He chose NOT to use this questionable information!

methinks the majority of people are underestimating the influence the administration uses on the military.....

every time a general gives an assessment of the war(usually a somewhat positively stretched truth)they retire shortly after....

my guess is that if patraeus's report is positive,he'll retire in the next few months...........if it's negative.......he'll "resign"...

    Are you kidding me?!!

I can tell you precisely, how the report will look like!!

Huge progress in any direction, Al Q, is highly demolished, high security through out Iraq, all the fled Iraqis are coming back,...and the BS continues!!

Have you ever seen a straight, honest answer from bush's administration?!!

I haven't, and I'm sure as hell many haven't either!!

PS. If he reports the situation fair! and square! as this fellow up here says he will!!, he'll be the first honest man ever!! since bush took the power! but i don't believe he'll!

general David is going to say what ever george bush wants to hear.the only general this country had that was a real soldier and warrior.and did;nt kiss ***, was general george patton. if they were all like him the war in iraq would be over.

General Patraeus will give it to the American people, congress and President Bush exactly the way it is, regardless of any political advantage or disadvantage of reporting it one way or another. General Patraeus is an honorable man and won't pull any punches. If things are going good, he'll report that, and if things are going bad, he'll report that.

Of course not. He's being paid to give positive reports.

    Don't be such a pessimist.

I personally believe the report will be accurate, valid and verifiable - and in stark contrast to what the mainstream media has been spewing out.
