definitely get an intel core extreme processor if its for gaming. there running around $1,000 on newegg.com. Also, get a minimum of 4GB ram and get at lest a 768MB video card. A 1GB card is running around $500. for the rest of the parts, its up to you. the rest dont really matter.

some things you may want to get:
a AGP 768 or 512 mb video card from GeForce or NVIDIA
you should get the new Core-dou 2 quad processors from intel (4 total cores on the proccesor)
get a good mother board that allows this type of proccessor
2 or 4 gb of memory should be fine
if you have lots of money you may want to add one of those liquid coolers
good luck making this computer

Just be sure if you run Vista get plenty of memory. I have 2 GB and it barely plays bioshock. I would recommend 4. That is what I am going too.
