what # will Dale earnhardt Jr, have next year what is your guess??

I hate to sound harsh ,but people just to let it go about Jr and the #8 . I know that he is famous and that he has million's of fan's but that doesn't make him a privledged pc aka privileged character .

I've been a Nascar fan since 1993 and never have I heard of a driver being able to take his number with him when he left a team .A sponsor yes ,but not a number.

Just because Jr isn't going to have the #8 doesn't make him have any fewer fan's.

I don't hear people complaining that he no longer has the Bud sponsor so whats the difference ?

After all the number doesn't make Jr go faster .Its the horse power under the hood .

Since Robert Yates has offered to sell the 38 to Hendrick Motor Sports - I could see that happening. The 3 for Sr. and the 8 for Ralph and Jr. = 38.

I hope Rick makes him drive the 5 since Kyle got booted out to let Jrs sorry @ss in.

Jr is going to have what Hendrick is going to give him the number might change the car might chang the color might and sponsor might chang but Jr will still be Jr bottom line

who cares what number he races with, the 8 belongs to dei and junior should run with what ever number he is given which should be the 5 should joe gibbs buy the number 5 for kyle because that was the only number he has been in..... junior is not senior and never will be so who cares what number he is in the big zero would be the best....

LISTEN UP FOLKS! I work for Hendrick Motorsports and I can say for 100 % the new number will be 38. Some other yahoo on this question said no way to this being the case, but, he's wrong! RYR Racing approached NASCAR about transfering this number to our company. the announcement will be soon, probably at the upcoming Charlotte races! Wait and see. We are already getting computer generated schemes for his new car for next year and they all have 38 on them.
