Do you think......?

Do you think I was being too preachy to this kid? I am the 4th one down.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhUHP...

I like to help with homework every once in awhile. Usually, just guiding them in to the right direction, but when are they going to learn to do their own work. I like to answer simple questions, but when they want someone to write their essays for them, then it gets ridiculous. They don't know what it is like in college. I am taking 3 upper level courses and they are very intense. I have a lot of reading and a lot of writing in them and I work full-time. I have to get a lot of it done on the weekends, but it will be worth it. Kids should learn to do their own homework, don't you all agree?

Not at all, especially since he asked about 5 of them.

Maybe if he only asked one or if he asked part of a question but I think he was asking for too much help.

dude I agree with u, I have just graduated with a history major degree and the stuff they make u read isn't easy. Its a chapter of like 30-60 pages on historical stuff. That kid is a slacker and he should do his own work. Thats a lot u have to read and do. I read somewhere u have an essay, make sure u use Chicago style when doing citations, history teachers love these citations a lot. Other than that u do well in history, hope u get some good grades this semester, peace.

No. Kids shouldn't be forced into an education system that does them no good. You are going to college, good for you. Many of these kids do not have the resources to even think about college, for them high school is a waste of time, because they will be doing some sort of labor job, and they really don't need to know what year president Carter was president to be ok at their job. High school should offer alternative classes for students who do not have the monetary means to go to college so they wont be wasting 4 years.

I don't think you were being too preachy, and kids really do need to stop procrastinating on their work (Hah, I'm one to talk). I think you made a good point, but these Yahoo Answer things are very helpful if you're stuck.
