PS2 Disc reading problem.?

This may narrow it down for you. RG is a DVD9 game, meaning that it has 9 layers. RPGs have a lot of cut scenes which takes up disc space. The older model PS2 wont read DVD9 games. Not to dis on the other answers, But the PS2 never played Blu-ray discs only the PS3 does that. If its a slim version, then your losing laser voltage. No biggie, any dvd repair place should be able to tune it up for you just tell them you want to tune the DVD laser to 950 ohms. that should work. The suggestion about swap magic discs might work also. Its not always how many scratches a disc has but WHERE the scratches are. Each disc has to validate the disc as a real copy, and if a scratch is impeding the laser, It may never read the disc as legit and wont play.

I had the same problem with mine, I googled how to take a ps2 apart and cleaned the laser that reads the disc with rubbing alcohol. also I ended up spraying a lot of compressed air into it. now it works fine for blue rays

i had this problum when i had a ps2 with a lot of games it is probably a blue ray disc if it is your ps2 cant read blue-ray discs and you need a new one. dudes at the place gave me a new one because i had a 2 yesar warrenty

dude if its a copy disk it wont work because you need something called a swap magic 3.6 the ps2 wort read burned or copied games
