Who wishes the North American Union to become a reality soon?

I am for it. It will help to buffer our crazy spending habits. Its clear from the subprime lending issue that other countries help to prevent recession/depression in our economy. I think we should have the NAU and add Japan, AU, NZ.

Open markets require a mobile workforce. Are you willing to learn Spanish so you can exist in the USA? That is if there still is a USA. Are you willing to be taxed to raise the standard of living in Mexico? I honestly think that bullets will fly before there is a North American Union. Wait until the first uninsured mexican truckdriver falls asleep at the wheel and wipes out a few cars on a US highway!

It will never happen, at least not in most of our lifetimes. For such an entity to be fully initiated would take an immense formation of a bureacracy encompassing all three participating governments at every level: national, state/provincial, and local.

Forging an economic pact is not the same as creating an entirely new government entity. If officials desire free, unfettered trade, they need to also do away with draconian immigration and travel restrictions. You can't have one without the other. Both go hand-in-hand.

I think that would be a great idea, but I think there may be a few problems. First, how would you handle people like Chavez? Then how would you deal with the rampant socialism in Canada?

Now if you were to say that the US actually CONQUER all the North and Central American countries, that would be entirely different. I am all for that. That way complete fairness and justice could be done for all countries and peoples involved and everyone would be happy.

Boy, and just think of the gas prices how they would fall!

I'm liking that idea even more now.

As each day passes, it's becoming more of a reality. I'm certainly not apposed to free trade, but in this case, it's monopolized and operated under the umbrella of a select few, to the detriment of this country.

It's now rather obvious as to why our borders will never be closed and the underhandedness of our politicians who back and support this nonsense. How long will it be before it's demanded that we're RFID tagged with our NAU numbers? The first three digits will represent the U.S.

With good little American Christians refusing to restrain their obscene waste of gas in their gas guzzling SUVS and therebye de facto destroying the world that THEIR GOD made for them ,the US looks north and the drooling saliva that dribbles from their mouths ,is focused on the HUGE oil reserves of Canada but much more important in the future,Canada's immense supply of FRESH WATER.

THIS IS IN FACT WHY THE US WANTS A NORTH AMERICAN UNION FOR CANADA SURE AS HELL DOES NOT ..

If Canada refuses to do with THEIR natural resourses that which the US demands (i.e. give it to the US) ,the US will just begin to DEMONIZE and VILIFY Canada and then wage war against Canada EXACTLY AS THE US HAS DONE SO MANY TIMES BEFORE TO SO MANY OTHER NATIONS.

The US actually destroyed the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED government in Iran in 1953 all because those silly Iranians had this wierd concept that a country's natural resourses ( i.e. OIL )actually belong to THAT country.

And Americans wonder why the Arabs/Muslims hate America's guts.

Can't wait until China becomes the only Super Power and they destroy the US democracy because the US refuses to do as China demands about US natural resourses.

I know that the good little American Christians will submissively accept China doing them in because their very CHRIST told them that " DOING UNTO OTHERS AS YOU DO UNTO THEM" is the MORAL thing to do.

When we allowed the stupid to have unlimited kids... Now that those kids are grown up, they demand TV that they can relate to, which is simple, drama filled, required minimal acting, and most importantly requires no thought to watch

Actually it would spread chaos and make relations between the US, Canada, and Mexico worse than they already are.

Not me. I haven't seen any of these global agreements doing positive things for Americans.
