Have any of you women gotten an IUD before?

If so, when and which brand? What side effects did you experience? I am debating getting one. I am sensitive to hormones, though, so I may have to try the Copper T one. My husband and I have 3 children, and are undecided for the future yet.

I have the Mirena IUD, which has the progesterone hormone in it. I chose this birth control because I cannot take estrogen because it caused me to develop horrible migraines.

I have had no mirgraines with this. I have lighter ...but longer periods, about 7 days. And that's when I get one. Sometimes I won't even get one. I have worse cramps with this, but it's berable. I love this IUD, it's great becuase the side effects are so minimal and it lasts for so long and you can't forget to take it. My doctor also told me that even tho this has hormones, the amount that's absorbed into your body is so minimal and it's basically absorbed into your uterus, not your bloodstream, so that's why you won't get weight gain, headaches, etc. I highly recommned it! Good luck

I had the non-hormone IUD for ten years. It replaced into acceptable for me, no pregnancies. The insertion replaced into uncomfortable, now no longer painful. I had gentle cramping for extra or less ten days afterwards. Psychologically it replaced into unusual to good accepted that there replaced precise right into a distant places places merchandise in my physique, yet i at last forgot approximately it. The string (or plastic string) is something that desires to be checked month-to-month to make efficient that your physique has now no longer mysteriously ejected the IUD. The non-hormone form of IUD will improve menstrual era bypass and length. there is bleeding in the time of intercourse. I definitely have heard that the hormone laced you need to have distinctive consequence (for the menstrual section) yet make valuable some aspects as i'm now no longer efficient. I additionally heard that the hormones are extra localized, so the well-known hormone component impacts that distinctive hormone based beginning up controls have won't take place. IUDs are acceptable at an same time as in a monogamous relationship, as they do now no longer preserve against STDs. it rather is intense-high quality to be conscious a condom alongside with the IUD. The IUD is a acceptable being pregnant preventative for individuals who've concern remembering to take a pill.

I have the mirena iud and have had it almost 5 years. I love mine - I don't have periods anymore, never experienced pain with it and don't have to worry about becoming pregnant. I have one son and my husband and I are still uncertain about having more. If we do decide to try to become pregnant again, it is easily removed and we can try right away. It is perfect for me!

I never knew a diaphram actually sliced the "would be baby into pieces" . I learned this when I had mine removed for other reasons (nothing serious though).
