Computer freeze due to torrent?

3 months back when I was using my old PC, my computer would force me to restart my computer whenever I run my Azureus for a few hours. There will be this small windows which gave me 60 seconds of countdown to shutting down.

A month ago after I bought a new system, I installed uTorrent instead of Azureus. Initially there was no problem at all until about a week ago my computer will just freeze partially.

uTorrent will stop responsding and I have to stop it forcefully.

All other programs will also stop working.

Windows will not even let me open up a simple txt file.

No audios or videos will play.

Avast is still running.

ZoneAlarm stop responding and can't be invoked.

To make the matters worse, I cant even restart/shutdown my computer the normal way. I have to hard reset it to restart my system.

I am running Windows XP SP 2.

System config:

Intel DuoCore 2 1.8 GHz

2 GB RAM

550W PSU

I am very positive it is not due to my hardware. Anyone has any idea?

The whole point of torrents is that you are sharing files with other computers, it works both ways. You obtain them from someone else's computer and in return they get files from yours.

By running the torrent you give up control of your PC. If lots of people want a fragment of a file that's on your computer it will run slower.

Remember the slowest component in any computer system is the hard drive, even the fastest ones are much slower than RAM. Modern hard disk controllers are fast, but they can only cope with a limited number of requests for data per second. The computer is not clever enough to prioritize your requests before the torrent software.

have you seen the film independence day ? The Aliens use a countdown based an a self depleting code. Thats what windows 7 is . Without being online and validated it will just stop why are you afraid of reinstalling you know thats what you have to do and a clean install i did one 2 days ago, and its now validated its not a driver issue if you want to fix it send me your email I will tell you how. Reinstalling is not such a big deal unless you don't have a disc you have a roaming profile if you use Google chrome and you can dump most everthing on Pendrives even if you do have a virus the answer is still the same if it has got this bad. Its a cracked copy isnt it right?

well any torrent will not b bad at first. I also have utorrent. utorrent is not the greatest way 2 dl music. I stopped using it because of this. If u use this, it will (a) dl music faster (b) u should use utorrent only if u can not find the music file here. It is a google "hack" that is actually a search. Try this link and it will teach you how 2 find music faster.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAyFtXlb_eo

once again. utorrent will run faster if u rarly use it.
