Question for dog experts?
I know that there are different terms for different types of ears on dogs, like prick ears.
What are the different names for the different kinds? Like the ones that stand up all the time, the ones that are most of the way up, but the tips fold down a little, and the ones that lay down all the time, like on a lab or a springer?
Thanks all

Erect or prick- Stand straight up
Semi-prick or semi-erect- Most of the way erect, but tip like a sheltie's.
Button- fold over aboiut 1/2 way, like a Jack Russell
Drop- Long and straight down, like a beagle
Rose ear- Sort of folded to the side, like a greyhound or whippet

Jennifer T got most of them. A couple others I can think of:
Bat ears: exclusive to French Bulldogs. Look like bat ears
Candle flame ears: on Toy Manchester Terriers. Kind of have an uneven side like a candle flame.
Tulip ear: upright, turned in ear. Bull Terriers and Pharaoh Hounds have this ear
Butterfly ear: Unique to the Papillon, who itself is named for its butterfly-like ears
Folded ear: erect but folded down--like the semi-erect ear only folded lower. Kerry Blues and Fox Terrier, for isntance, have this ear.

Greyhounds have ears (my one anyway) that stay folded back the whole time , thats called 'rose'. Other breeds like bulldogs have em too.
