Help! Locking guitar strap and other guitar things?

My boyfriend has requested a locking guitar strap for his birthday... I have NO idea where to find one online... Please guitarists, can you tell me what a good one would be, and where I can find it online? Also if you can suggest some good guitar books (he mentioned learning riffs and generally becoming more comfortable with the guitar). He's played for 2.5 years on his own and is getting pretty good.

Thanks so much for all the help! I'm so clueless :(

IT'S NOT THE GUITAR STRAP THAT LOCKS IT'S THE ACTUAL STRAP LOCKS YOU NEED , THEY THREAD THROUGH THE STRAP AND YOU PUT THE NEW BUTTONS ON THE THE GUITAR, I RECOMMEND STRAP LOCKS BY SCHALLER

Here's what you're choosing between: Schaller strap buttons, Dunlop strap buttons, and a locking strap with plastic clips like a camping belt.

Of the three, the Dunlop has the thickest construction, the Schaller is the smallest to look at, and the plastic locking strap is breakable - just like a camping belt. You need to know what color hardware he wants (black, chrome, gold).

The Guitar Grimoire (three main books as of 2 years ago) is the final answer to learning riffs, but is quite advanced. Scales and Modes is a good one if you don't want all three. Guitar Center or Sam Ash sells all of these things, and will ship to you if you do credit card on the phone.

Musician's friend and Guitar center are basically the same company. Sam Ash is another. All have websites.

    You'll find strap locks here...

    http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schaller-St...

they are the kind I have on all of my guitars...there are two pieces that screw into the body of the guitar and the other pieces hook onto one of his existing guitar straps. Then the strap will snap and lock onto the guitar, preventing the possibility of the strap falling off of his guitar and his guitar hitting the floor.

In answer to your question about books...musicians friend also has some...but it would matter what type of music he likes to play.
