What does "UNLOCKED" cell phone mean? Do they come with out a chip?Are they previously owned?

    UNLOCKED cellphones are the best, it means that it does not belong to any carrier , and you can just plug your sim card in it , and unlocked phone are mostly GSM , which can work with company like Cingular AT&T , T-Mobile .. and unlocked cellphones you can use it internationaly with ANY GSM Carrier in the WORLD!! In Eurpe - asia - middle east.. i hope this helps

    Unlocked doesn't mean previously owned, especially if you buy them from a real store. It means they aren't tethered to a carrier. You will have to purchase a SIM card (or use an old one) to make it work on your carrier.

    An "unlocked" cell phone means that all it features are available to use... exp. gps, instant messaging, web, calc

    The down side is... your service provider (AT&T, Sprint,....) might not support all the features of your phone

    it means that is works with all companies

    it is universal really

    if you have a sims card the phone should work, no mater who the card belongs to
