Two women apply for a job. They are identical.Why did they say they weren't twins?

Two women apply for a job. They are identical. They have the same mother, father, birthdays, height, weight, etc... The interviewer asks, "Are you twins?" They say, "No".

Why did they say they weren't twins?

    they were both adopted to the same parents but coincidentally they were born on the same day and were the same height and weight

    They are 2 of a set of multiple birth girls that are triplets or higher
