Teacher sexual harassment?

My 14 year old son had a paper in English class on pro and con of drug testing in highschool. He naturally took the negative side. In grading his paper his 33ish year old female teacher made this comment

“So if I come to school in just my underwear I should be able to since it’s my body? And I should be able to drink beer while taking notes.”

Is this sexual come on? I could have understood if she had said someone instead of using the first person, and said it to the class instead of on a private essay paper.

Update:

now had this been a 33 year old man teacher saying the same thing to a cute 14 year old girl?? how would you feel?

This does not sound like a sexual 'come on'. I'm not sure why she said those things but maybe your son didn't get his point accross as well as he could have. Although I don't think she was very professional, I think maybe she was trying to 'speak teen language', and using words he may understand. If she was coming on to him I don't think she would include drinking beer in the conversation. Ask her outright what she meant by those comments. Its important not to come across as angry - more curious because it was probably totally innocent. good luck

In all honesty- I do not think this is a come-on. I think she is trying to make your son think. You, however, are more than welcome as a concerned parent to calmly and without placing blame, ask her the intentions of the comment. She may have not realized how it would come off to someone else. If this is the only evidence of her "harassment" I would not be too quick to throw the book at her. You can mention that it would be more appropriate to use the thrid person when giving examples, lest the impressionable children get the wrong idea. But I dont think it had any wrong intentions.

I doubt it. I think she was trying to make it funny. I don't think you should worry. If things start happening then there may be something. Don't worry about it. Teachers are trying to make jokes and sometimes they don't work. Mistake she was probably tired and bored of grading papers so she was probably a little irratable and she wrote what she thought. Hope this helps.

I doubt that it's harassment, but it's definitely inappropriate. I used to be a teacher. If I were you, I'd show it to the principal and make the point that comments like that are unacceptable.

hmm no i don't think this is sexual harassment. a lot of teachers do that especially the younger ones, one of my teachers played with like one of my guy friends' hair. so i don't know teachers are weird. just tell your son not to get too friendly with his teacher. keep teachers and students seperately. students shouldn't be friends with teachers. it's stupid.

It doesn't sound like sexual harassment but just a really dumb thing to say. You should show the paper to someone at the school like the principle. She should not be using stuff like that as an example.

I think she is just being genuine and probably picked the most outrageous thing she could think of in order to reinforce an argument.

i dont think so. he probably wrote somethin like since its their body they can do watever they want with it and she probably responded cuz she disagreed. thats how i see it and i agree with her. there should be drug tests (at least at my skool..i no alota drug users here)

Tell your son to jump her bones while he has the chance
