Yes, the work they do to protect peoples civil liberties is just a big distraction from the real work of making you feel uncomfortable about your neighbors decency. How can you stand to live in such a country as the USA where peoples freedoms are held higher than your bigotry.

If you are a Nazi, a member of the Klan, a Commie, whatever, if the ACLU thinks your constitutional rights have been violated, they will speak up. They aren't always successful but for many Americans, it's nice to have someone who sees constitutional guarantees in such a black and white fashion. They don't take sides; they protect everyone's rights.

No, it's purpose is to defend and protect our civil liberties. Sometimes this means taking an unpopular position. You should read their web site to see the kinds of cases they take, and how they define themselves. They can be on either side. For example, they filed a brief defending Rush Limbaugh's right to privacy of his medical records when he was being prosecuted for drug offenses.

Is there anything decent left in America, after being shamed by our government on the world stage? I think a lot of our leaders are corrupt.

No, they are out to protect everyone's civil liberties, whether you like them or not. That reminds me, I need to become a member of this organization.

I looked at the source. There is no objectivity there at all.

you probably need a real source, but try beginning it with Http:\\ and see if that works.
