Is 3G more superior to EDGE in as far as internet connection is concerned or is it just hype ?

3g is much more faster dear...go for it

EDGE is an enhancement of GPRS, 3G is a totally different technology capable of much higher data rates. Now there is also an enhancement to 3G called HSDPA which bumps the speed up from a theoretical maximum of 384kb/s to 1.4mb/s. Even this speed is being improved on at the moment so you could be looking at much more than that soon.

Yes, it is much faster...maybe 10x faster, although that depends on a lot of factors. Note that Wi-Fi is far faster than 3G, although not as widely available on cell phones.

yes 3G is of course faster than Edge.....just google it about it, you'll get your answer... there are some provider out there that support 3g, like Sprint, Cingular, Helio.

yes but i'm not sure on how much faster it can be, but it is faster. the only couple of supporters off the top of my head but a couple are sprint, cingular
