Can you personally work within a religious group without being of that religion yourself? Give an example.?
Sorry I corrected the wording and was not quick enough. So there are two almost identical questions both with answers.

My husband worked with an interfaith hunger coalition and became good friends with the pastor of a non-denominational Christian church (we are Pagans). Not only are the two of them good friends who respect each other's beliefs, we went with his church group to serve a Thanksgiving meal last year, and plan to do it again this year.

Sure. I would be willing to donate my time to a religious organization to do food drives or collecting clothing for orphans, aiding disaster victims or whatever program like that was available in my area (assuming the group didn't try to force me to evangelize).
Actually I helped out a church at my university by going out on really hot days to hand out free water to people who were having to walk across campus. I don't go spouting off about how god doesn't exist during this kind of thing, and the group can't make me preach to people.

The most famous ex. of all time was Roman Emperor Constantine the Great who did not himself convert to Chistianity but made it the official religion and I think did actively involve himself in church business.

If a church that I am not a member of but is helping a destitute family with food, clothing, furniture, etc. I have given items, helped deliver etc. If another church is operating a Goodwill or Salvation Army style store,-- I have donated items. I know of church's that employ people (secretary, custodian, etc.) that are not members of that church. Sometime this is done so not to show partiality one member to another.
