I have a 2 yr old Jack Russell terrier and adopting a 2 yr old Beagle, what do you think?

My husband and I fell in love with this stray beagle. We found her roaming the streets and called SPCA to check if she had a home. The next door neighbor is caring for her in the mean time but soon want to find a forever home for this pup. They found out that she did have a home and was abused. She was left outside and fend for herself. We agreed on adopting her and want to give her a loving home. My only concern is that my 2 yr old jack russell is very dominant. She is very friendly and plays with other dogs well. I am hoping that she and the beagle would do well together. I want to know if beagles are good dogs and does anyone think a jack russell and a beagle would get along?

Update:

well we picked up the beagle on Sunday and she is precious. She and our jack russell get along well. Thank you for all your answers.....

P.S. we named the beagle, Bailey

I found this online book for you.

It was first printed in 1910.

You may read the first chapter online for free. But there are 101 pages in PDF Adobe format if you need to know more than this chapter

My uncle has a friend who had a jack russel and then bought a pomeranian. They got into a little fight and for some reason she put her hand between the dogs to try and stop it and the jack russel bit her. So my uncle now has the jack russel and she kept the pom. However, my neighbor had 2 jack russels who got along but I think they had been together since birth. I dont know if it was just my uncle's friends experience or if its really just not a good idea to add a new dog when you already have a jack russel.

My sister has one of each and they get along great, but every dog has a personailty of thair own! your jack will want to asert domonince. it's ok she was there first as long as it dosent get out of hand it should be ok if it dose then keep pepper on hand. if they start to fight dump the pepper in their heads. (I doubt you will have to do this) They are good dog breeds so you should have few problems
