My mother in law was divorced from her husband 19 years ago and is kinda a tom boy. She talks about how Godly she is and preaches to me and everything and then tells me the other day how she has her "toys" and everything. But then she talks about how she told her son when he was younger that its a sin and so on. Sometimes I just get tired of her acting like shes a christian and then she does other things that makes you want to be like WTF? anyways. So if you are NOT married, is it a sin to masturbate? She's preaching to me this morning about giving 10% to God and all this stuff and it sometimes gets annoying when they are PRETENDING to be a christian

What does masturbation have to do with Christianity?

I would hope your mother-in-law masturbates.  I would hope you do too.  As for religion, it's best if you practice what you preach, but don't make up things about your religion that aren't there.

As we are born sinners , technically , everything we do falls short of Gods glory and is a sin.

This accidental sort of sin is all through our life , but what about deliberate acts that goes against Gods standards.?
Well obviously these too are sins.

But there are sin , and there are sins.

Masterbation is nothing like murder , or incest or stealing or following a false religion.

The Bible is clear on this , masterbation is an uncleaness.
Uncleaness is when we morally do wrong.

Being unclean we cannot have a solid relationship with God.
We put up a barrier between us and God ,, so he cant do anything with us.

This is of course a horrible situation to be in as we should cherish our relationship with God , and truly value it.

Simply put, if we want to serve God , we must'nt do such filthy things.

Some things that are sin to some are not for others. I mean there are certain things that we all know are sin, but then we have to listen to God's conviction on other things, He takes each one of us 1 step at a time. I've seen all kinds of Christians doing things that I can't do, but God shows us what he wants us to know. It is hard to listen to someone that is doing something you think is sin..

dude... from my experiences every christian is a hypocrit... and hello... she's been divorced for 19 years... at least she isn't out sleeping with everyone...she's dealing with her needs herself... if you couldn't have sex with your husband for years... dont you think after awhile you'd get just a little sexually frustrated? if you don't like her constantly preaching to you about jesus almighty then tell her.. just tell her that you dont want to hear it all the time..if she does other things that add on to her christian hypocrisy and u want to then point it out to her.. be like " i wish you wouldnt preach to me because..." and throw those examples in her face. i hear ya tho...annoying as hell. good luck
