is it socially acceptable to be a gamer.?

here is the question ,when you first meet someone ,and they ask what you like.do you come right out and say i'm a gamer,or do you keep it to yourself for a bit and wait, to drop that bomb.i mean come on i play everyday for atleast a couple of hours, and i manage a pretty full life.i 'm married i have kids i play with them everyday, i work ,i dowd attention to my wife's things .i keep the yard and house work done, and most of all i game alot about 4 hours a day.my wife doesn't care but we met a new couple and when asked what my hobbies are, i said, i love football ,cooking ,spending time with my family oh ya and i'm a video gamer .so the couple frowned apon it,well the wife did.now that guy's wife doesn't want the husband ( to end up like me ) i felt snubbed because i'm a gamer .what do you think.

If you can manage to do all of that and your life is well balanced then i guess your ok. 4 hours is not that much compared to 20 hours little kids do. If anyone has anything to say about you, let them say it because your life is good as i can see by reading your question.

There is no shame in being a gamer, infact if i had to take a guess more people play games then the people who dont, i mean did you know that more people attended Comic Con this year then the Super Bowl!! now if thats not saying something then i dont know what will, oh wait yeah there is something, just look at the numbers of people at E3? not to mention that theres an E3 at all! obivously gaming has become more then just a past time, and its nothing that should be kept a secret, long live video games!!!

You should never feel bad about playing video games. Any person, that would snub someone, just because they play videogames, is a really shallow person! For all the hard work you do, you should at least be able to play a few hours of videogames!

I'm not afraid to admit it. Everyone I know at school has a system and plays regularly. I like it for entertainment; it's fun. I like to exercise play some sports to. What that wife did is just another stereotype. You got to have fun sometimes on your own.
