The truth of this matter is that there is vary little overlap between gays and pedophiles. By fair the greatest majority of pedophiles are white medial aged heterosexuals. Although I realize that to a victim like yourself the statistics are meaningless.

I think you are going to find though that once you have worked through your rage that the VAST majority of the LGBT community are kind, loving, people.

First of all, I want to say that I'm very sorry to hear about what your step-brother did to you. But there is one thing you need to understand: being gay does NOT equal being a child molester!

Saying that is as ridiculous as saying that all straight men molest little girls - which obviously is not true.

I, for one, support gay rights in the United States - because I'm pretty sure our country was founded on the ideals of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness for ALL people. I don't ever remember hearing the disclaimer "unless you're gay" added to it...

I agree with everybody. Just because you were molested (and I am dearly sorry for that) doesn't make you gay, nor does it mean that gay people molest boys. I was molested by my uncle 2 times, and although I rarely talk to him anymore, the reason why I am bisexual is because i like guys and girls, not because he molested me.

My friend, your stepbrother was/is a pervert---that is called pedophilia. Homosexuality is different from pedophilia in that pedophilia is the sexual name we give people who molest children. Homosexuality on the other hand is when 2 people of the same-sex both affirm their sexuality by having relations on an intimate level. So my friend, do some research and you will find that perverts and good hardworking homosexuals are totally different from each other.

PS a pedophile can be anyone from your family, family friends, clergy, etc who have a deep burning desire to get off with a child (which is disgusting!). Homosexuals are people who are everyday citizens who pay their taxes, buy homes, raise children (if children are apart of the family unit), etc .

I also wanted to comment on black folk and homosexuality. I LOVE my black folk---we are family, but we really need to educate ourselves as a community because we have no idea about the differences between sexuality and as a race of people we tend to merge everything that is not STR8 into one bag. We can't continue doing this because as a race we should know the stigmatizations of being outcasts and not loved. I think brother, you should educate yourself for real and talk to brothers who are "IN THE LIFE" and listen to them. Ah, but because of the evils of homosexuality, black men in our community go underground...or Downlow (DL). That is why the Black community is experiencing a high concentration of STD's and HIV/AIDS...we are NOT listening to ourselves. We NEED to STOP the MADNESS!

Molesting 12 year old boys is not a gay activity. It is a perverted and illegal activity. When you learn to separate molestation from being gay, come and ask your question again. Until then it does not deserve an answer in my opinion.

You are right in one aspect. Rape or molestation is a power issue regardless of the orientation of the sex act. In the case of pedophilia there are other issues as well, as with rapists.

However, what you are doing is lumping homosexuals in with pedophiles, and that is not right. I don't think that anyone supports pedophilia rights, but gay rights is a totally different thing entirely. Your mistake is in assuming that all gay peope are pedophiles. That is not true, nor is it true that all pedophiles are homosexual in orientation. Many men molest and rape female children. The one common demoninator is pedophilia is that the perps are adults attracted to domineering children. That doesn't make them homosexual. Big difference.

people do things for differnt reasons.and sometimes it is because they believe the same things .and they support each other. I am very sorry what happened to you it was wrong. and the person who did that was wrong.It really must have effected you greatly.but you cant blame all people for what one person did. he has a serious promblem. and you should seek some counseling to heal from what happened to you. and love and respect yourself and dont blame all gay people .there are good and bad people every where you go. try and look for the good and try to join a local church or support group.

Do you realize that you just stereotyped the whole LGBT community? What your step brother did to you was bad, I can understand, but that's called pedophilia not homosexuality. I don't think rape is a straight thing (since most rapists are straight males) and I don't think pedophilia is a straight thing (I don't know which gender is raped more often, but I hear more gay stories than straight ones. although most molesters present themselves as straight men)

I support equality. and the people I support only date other consenting adults. gender doesn't matter to me
