Macbook Pro or Windows Laptop?
I play a lot of computer games that need direct x 10 and a huge graphics card. Which laptop should I get with those specific needs. I heard Macbook Pro is good but is there any other opinions?

A Macbook Pro is the only way to go, best value for the money too (try to price a Dell with the Nvidia 8600M GT 256MB graphics card and 2GB of RAM) - the 8600M GT is the 2nd fastest video card you can get in a laptop, only the 8700M is currently better and it only comes in 3 PC laptops all much more expensive and 17" models only (Toshiba would be the best place if you must have the fastest possible gaming video card - $2400 for 17", 512MB 8700M video, and 2GB ram - but weighs almost 10 pounds vs 5.8 pounds for the 15" MacBook Pro). Install Boot Camp on you MacBook and it runs Windows native and Windows applications and games just like any other windows laptop (not an emulation like old macs did - real Windows XP or Vista). Lots of users and reviewers have have reported great game performance. Keep in mind you will need a copy of Windows to install after you buy your MacBook Pro. Drop by an Apple store for help they will even help you get it up and running. Keep in mind if you go the Dell route you will only have Windows Vista as an option which few games run well on currently. You should stick with Windows XP if you are gamer.
Why would anyone buy a PC based laptop is beyond me, equivlent configured MacBooks and MacBook Pro's are cheaper, lighter, more reliable, and have better service.
Good luck!

There a lot of things that Macs can't do. Always go for a gaming laptop, there great for almost everything. Just remember Macs is a rip off, you can get the same stuff as window for 200-500 dollars. The only thing that is great about Macs is that its virus free. Macs is mostly design for noob and entertainments. When it come to windows 7, pick windows 7 pro not Ultimate. The difference between those two are: bit-locker and over 30 lang. You might not need it. Remember to get Window 7 Pro 64 bits. Also go for 4-8G of RAM. RAM and processor card are very important. Get a Processor card of intel. I recommend Intel i7. Do not get AMD, their only good for desktop. When you are pick a gaming laptops go for ASUS or MSI. You can still make windows look like a MAC. The question is are you willing to spend 1.5K-4k for a laptop. Trust me it may cost a lot, but its worth it. It will be your dream laptop. Get at least 500G Hard Drive with raid 0 and 1. You may get 80-256G SSD. There better, but cost more. Get a good video card such as ATI. I recommend ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5870 1024MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11. Get a good thermal compound. Remember to buy a cooler. Just in case you don't know, most gaming laptop battery length is 1-2 Hours. That the bad part, it also heavier. That shouldn't be a problems for men's. The reason why you need a cooler is because, your laptops has wires that carry electrons though the circuits. The higher the temperature is the lack of perforuments there are. Your laptops needs to maintains 20 degree C. That about 70 Degree F. [Room Temperature] It like a human body, if we maintain the correct temperature, our blood cell will carry and transport though out the body then into the brain. Then we stay healthy. The control central of the laptop is the processor card. [CPU] Good luck!

Gaming on Macs is great, especially a high end Macbook, but be aware that there are not NEARLY as many games for the Mac as there are for the PC. I would base your decision on price and also availability of the games you want to play. Often times games built for the PC will take forever to get a port to the Mac. Some times they never make a Mac version.
You may be able to get away with running these games on the Mac using bootcamp (or whatever software you choose) to run Windows on your Mac, but i'm not sure about the efficiency of running those on a Mac through the alternate OS.

A MacBook Pro would be a good option, especially since it can run Windows XP or Windows Vista as well (with the aid of either Bootcamp, Parallels, or Fusion.). If you are looking for alternatives to a MacBook Pro, then you may want to look at some of Alienware's computers, as they are designed especially for gamers...

Macbooks are awesome laptops, especially now, because Mac uses Intel Core2Duo processors. I would choose a Mac over a PC for video editing and for heavy graphics. But if your going to use it for gaming, I would go with Windows based laptop with an Intel Core2Duo and at least 2gigs of ram. Look into Dell XPS and HP. It all depends on how much you want to spend. Few things to look for in a gaming laptop: High end Intel Processor, a good graphics card with 256MB ram so it doesnt eat into the system memory. And at least 2Gigs of system RAM(4 GB would be even better)

If you want to only play games then just get pc based notebook with the latest video card and tons of ram.
However
Macbooks can dual boot OS X and XP, so essentially you could still get a macbook but I think the drivers for the hardware running under windows probably hinder the overall performance of the macbook.

If your gonna do gaming don't go for a laptop at all. They're made for portability not performance. Desktops are cheaper, more upgradeable, and have better performance. If you buy a gaming laptop now in a year you're gonna find out that it's obsolete, and there's not that much room for upgradeability, so you'll either end up buying a new laptop or desktop.

Well since there aren't many games mad for a MAC and you can't get direct X for it then you should probably get a Windows Laptop. Macs don't play windows games or .exe files, you have to buy Mac specific software and there just aren't alot of games made right now for a Mac.
But yes a Mac is much better than a Windows PC
