I have never done that. However, lot of my friends do and obviously they did score well. I think it depends upon how you answer the questions rather how much you have studied.
However, there is an interesting study had been done on the same topic in north America among college students. It revealed that those who have studied last three days of their exams retained less knowledge on their subject compared( the groups were assessed after 6 months of their exams) to the other group who have studied regularly and revised in a proper manner. However, the study revealed that, the "sincere group" had scored 14 marks higher than the "last minute group".
So, if you want to score higher and retain knowledge, make sure that you are preparing for your exams from the beginning.
Hope, this helps

It all depends on how much you have done over the year - BUT one thing you can do is create some 'sentences' to help you remember the major points of your subjects - such as formulas, names of things etc. Its dead old fashioned but its just like the one you have to remember the colour of the rainbow by 'Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain' (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) That little rhyme tells you both which colours, and in what order. Just write a list of the things you need to remember for each little subject area that you really think will crop up, then for each list, take the first letters and play around with them until you have either a word, or a new 'representing setence' - like above. Once you have a set of these, each hour look at the new little rhyme/ sentence and keep recalling what each letter stands for. Worked brilliant for me through GCSEs, A Levels, Batchelors and Masters, but it isnt for everyone though! GOOD LUCK!

Just go over quizzes and tests you already took. Everything you learn during the year is what you're tested on anyway. I did it all through High School and College. And yeah I did it at the last minute just to freshen up my memory. I also always did my homework and my grades were never below a 3.0. So it can be done. Good Luck!

I never did do any heavy studying for any exam, I would just read through the subject matter once and then go take the test and usually Ace it! My GPA was a 4.0 in school!
I also have a photographic memory, so this helps me in recalling answers for the test, sort of like automatic recall.

Yes. Everytime I appear for an exam I indulge in last minute study. And by coincidence or my good luck, the same question appears in exam.

No i haven't practised of doing that. Actually ill stop reading atleast 1/2 an hr before the exam time & sit silently.
I'll also advice all the students to be so.
