I add jello pudding and it makes it sooo moist. I also take about a cup of the mix and add cocoa powder to it. After that I place spoon fulls around the cake and swirl it with a knife to make the "marble" effect in the cake. Hope I helped!!!

hi there; you can add a box of pudding to a cake mix(do this in the beginning before the wet ingredients)You can also add choc. chips when ever I have made a marble cake or a cake that was suppose to be a 1/2 and 1/2 cake I just buy 2 cake mixes make them according to directions>>>To make a 1/2& 1/2 cake grease and flour your cake pan(9x13 works best) pour the first batter into the pan(about 1/2) and keep the pan at an angel then slowly pour the second batter into the same pan your pan should be at least 2/3 full and bake as usual. To make a marble cake with 2 cake mixes just follow the directions on the packages and grease and flour your pans then pour some of the cake batter(from one of the mixes) into the pan; then take the other and spoon into the pan with a tablespoon about 4-5 tablespoons should be ok. Then swirl the batter until it looks like a marble effect and bake as usual. You can go to the Duncan Hines web site to maybe get more ideas>>www.DuncanHines.com or you can call them @1-800-362-9834(toll free)..Well I hope I helped you and good luck with your baking..

I always use milk instead of water.Makes a richer, moister cake.
You can add orange or lemon rind, coconut, chopped nuts, whatever you like.Don't be afraid to experiment.
Adding instant pudding (jello) powder mix is fine too.I've never tried just the jello crystals
To make marble cake, take half the batter and add cocoa powder to it.Then swirl the vanilla and chocolate mixes to gether using a knife.
Add the cocoa powder to your taste..

i don't usually add anything to my mixes as i do cakes on the side for extra money.i do add a touch of lemon extract to white cake mixes as it adds a little something that ppl can't quite identify but makes it taste different.we don't eat alot of cake at home and my husband prefers chocalate cake.you can buy marble cake mixes and my preference to mixes is duncan hines-i get so many compliments on the cakes as they are very moist.just look in cake recipes and internet for cake varieties.

You can add just about anything for flavor, you may have to add a little more water if you're adding dry ingredients. One thing I ALWAYS do is instead of adding oil where it says to, add Crisco. Use the same amount of Crisco as it says to add oil. This is a trick my culinary arts chef taught us in school. You won't be able to tell the difference between box cake and the real homeade.

When I am in a bind and need a cake fast, I use boxed cakes. But, I substitued unsweetened applesauce instead of the oil. It makes the cake taste like it was homemade and is more healthier for you. It also helps to keep the cake moist longer.

Whenever I make a mix, whether it is cake or cookies or brownies, I always add a big dollop of mayonnaise. It makes your finished product moist and tasty.
Edit: Whomever gave me the thumbs down, was it because you've never tried it and think it sounds gross? Good Lord, you don't add enough to taste it. I don't know why, but it really does make your cake and cookies extra moist. Try it, and THEN give me a thumbs down.
