go rent some Japanese films related to the genre...there are tons at blockbuster and will be just what you are looking for since they are the same kind of film that you are talking about making.

That REALLY depends on what kind of sword you're fighting with, bud.
Kendo is the martial art of swordfighting in Japan. Katanas and the like are used.
Fencing is fighting with all the different styles or Rapiers.
If you're using broad swords or something, I don't really know any martial arts. . . sorry.

Sounds fun. What movie is it about? is it something like LOTR?
Go on youtube for inspiration. for western style swords look up medieval longsword fighting.
for japanese sword fighting also look up youtube for kenjutsu or kendo.
I hardly count rapier fighting as manly enough to qualify for epic battles but if that is your fancy you can look up fencing on youtube. pirates of the caribbean style sabre duels? hmm should be similar to fencing. anyways they had some decent enough sabre duels in pirates of the carribean itself.
hope you draw some good inspiration from all this. remeber practice in slow mo, and than get faster and faster. why sword duels rock so much is because both fighters are really battling toe to toe instead of from cover ala gun battles. its more personal!

Just make up your own.
But try to escape if you and your opponent have swords (in real life) because a real sword fight only last about 15 seconds, more than 15 seconds are usually fake.

Seriously, you need to specify what kind of sword fighting you intend to portray. There are good sites for all styles but if you don't differentiate between them, then we can't help you.
