devon caravan park, called sandy bay, this was in the seventies?
for years our family went to the same caravan park in devon, it was called sandy bay, there was a really good sandy beach, and loads of cliffs and rock pools to the left, with a shipwreck about a mile round the coast, there was an army rifle range at the top of the cliffs, and you had to walk down about half a mile of sandy track to get to the beach, the beach was usually covered in layers of seaweed and had loads of starfish and jellyfish everywhere.
we had brilliant holidays there and i've been trying ever since to find the place again.
i also remember a nearby smugglers cove on a shingle beach within walking distance, also with great rock pools.
i think it may have been near sidmouth, but every time i go there i am at a loss and can't find it.
i could obviously getting all confused and have melded a number of seperate destinations into one, but any help to find one, or all of them would be fantastic.

I went to uni down in Exmouth and Sandy Bay was def alive and kicking then! It might not be much like you remember it due to tourism now however:-(
I remember stories about a shipwreck in the area although couldn't tell you where it is and shingle beaches and rockpools definitely sound right for the area!!
