Hey New Yorkers.....?
I'm spending nine days in Manhattan starting Thursday 9/13. What is the weather like this time of year. What to wear to broadway shows. Any reason to bring dressy clothers?

It's will probably be upper 70s while you're here. For the most part, dress comfortably Septembers can still get pretty warm in NY.
As far as Broadway shows, I've always warn polo shirts and jeans, but I live here so it's not a "special event" type thing to me. Just dress comfortably--that's the key to NY.

Broadway shows aren't reason enough to wear dressy clothes?
(Then again, when my luggage was lost, I ended up wearing the same clothes I'd been travelling in for the past eightteen hours to the Metropolitan Opera... oh boy, was that awkward...)

weather is hot in the day cool at night so bring a lite sweater. You will need to have dress clothes for weather.You will have a wonderful time,try not to look like a tourist you don't want to get ripped off.

be prepared for some shops and businesses to beclosed wed evening, all day thursday and friday.also sat sept 22 many also will be closed. Weather should be very nice as the other postings said.
