What is the English name of the Spanish named fruit Corazon?
There is a fruit in Puerto Rico called Corazon that grows on a tall tree.
Does anyone know what it is called in English or by some wild chance what the scientific name of the plant is?
I am trying to get more information about this fruit and am finding it impossible!
Very Frustrating! PLEASE HELP!
I'm sorry, I should've clarified. I am spanish speaking and do not want to know what the word means. CORAZON IS A FRUIT in Puerto Rico. I used to eat it as a child. Thank you for your responses but I have found out that in English it is called Custard Apple.

Corazon is Custard Apple or direct translation is "heart" because of the shape it has.
Now, when you eat a(heart fruit) custard fruit, you can not drink milk right away because it will give you stomach cramps and bad pains. I know because I live here and my sister in law had some by her house. One of her neices ate one, then drank milk instead of waiting to dring water and she was sick. So off to the doctors. It is just that the fruit itself fills you up and it is like strong in taste.
This fruit is found in the mountain regions. But now in the Plaza de Mercados or Market Places where fruits, veggies and meats are sold you can maybe find a fruit stand that will have the Corazon or Custard Apple fruit.
It has fleshy pulp. When you open it is is like looking at a bowl of custard the scientific name for it is Annona reticulata grown in the tropics of America, in other words, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
The trees are tall up to near 10 to 15 feet high, grows in the mountain ranges because of the nice temperatures for it. It weighs from 3 to 5 pounds and is about 6 to 8 inches in diameter. The size depends on the tree, the weather and if it is on low branches or higher branches. My sister in laws sons would climb up to get them because if they fall to the ground, then they get smashed and are not edible.
I hope this helped you out. And if you eat one, don't drink milk, wait a while and drink water. This is to avoid the upset pain in the stomach. Eat small portions also. It is a good fruit though and natural.
Buen Provecho-Good eating
